From Soccer Dad to Youth Coach
My journey in the world of soccer began not as a business professional, but as a passionate soccer dad and youth coach. It all started when my son, Nicholas John Kaloukian, kicked his first soccer ball at the tender age of 5 at the Boys & Girls Club. From those early days, it was clear that Nicholas had an extraordinary talent and a deep love for the game. As a father and coach, I was committed to nurturing that talent.
A Journey of Passion and Commitment
Together, Nicholas and I traveled the country and ultimately the world, attending countless tournaments, matches, and training sessions. We spent hours on the road, discussing strategies, analyzing games, and sharing our love for soccer. These experiences not only strengthened our bond but also gave me invaluable insights into the youth sports landscape.
Guide through the Challenges
As Nicholas's skills outgrew what I could offer, he transitioned to academy teams, and my role shifted to providing guidance off the field. I helped him navigate the often daunting path of youth soccer, from selecting the right clubs and coaches to ensuring he was in optimal physical shape.
Celebrating the Successes
Our soccer journey wasn’t without its challenges. I negotiated NIL deals for Nicholas, securing sponsorships that supported his development. When he decided to transfer from the University of Michigan after his freshman year, I was there, preparing him in advance have that tough conversation with the head coach and ultimately securing his next step and a scholarship at Syracuse University.
